George Orwell's final warning

"In our world there will be no emotions except, fear, triumph and self abasement. The Sex instinct will be eradicated, we shall abolish the organism, there will be no loyalty except loyalty to the party. There will always be the intoxication of power. Always at every moment there will be the thrill of victory, the sensation of trampling on an enemy who is helpless. If you want a picture of the future imagine a boot stamping on a human face forever. The moral to be drawn from this dangerous nightmare situation is a simple one: Don't let it happen. It depends on you."

I found this video rather by accident and I found it really chilling...

  1. Fortunately, the year 1984 passed and Big Brother did not come to fruition in quite the way Orwell predicted and I'm sure it was because, in part, Orwell did write "1984" and no one wanted it to be realized. So, just like the Holocaust, we must remember and never forget what we are capable of in darkness and try, try, try to rise above it.

    1. Big Brother is well on its way to become reality and the Holocaust? many have forgotten about it and that is why history is starting to repeat itself here. Many rightwing movements, much hatred.........

    2. I have often likened it to an avalanche that one must be brave enough to stand up in and take the battering. Hopefully staying above it.

    3. We are defying this avalanche we call society these days. You, me, Corina, Ben and people like us. And it seems like we are getting more numerous. Maybe we can stem this avalanche in time, but it will be more likely a rebuild after it has past.
