OUT - Dutch Bushcraft forum meetings

september & november 2010

The Dutch bushcraft forum has monthly meetings/walks somewhere in the country and I managed to attend to 2 of them. A great opportunity to meet likeminded people, see the faces behind the forumnames and share knowledge with one another. One of the main problems with Dutch forrests, besides being overcrowded at times, is that camping is illegal and so is having a fire.... and often even leaving the tracks!! Being tactical is what is called for and that is most of the times achieved.... to some degree....
The first one was in september 2010. I can't remember the location anymore.

the one with the camobeanie is me

coffeebreak

the then youngest forummember Matis. Remember that name! The kid is going to be the next Mears!!

learned about horseshoefungus(?)

Me and my best mate Frank

No, not angry, just focussed...

we talked about knots, too. A very difficult matter for me....
The next one was in november and we talked about hunting- and especially trappingtechniques. One of the guys was Bertus, a retired forrestranger and he knew a lot about the subject! Besides that he's just an incredibly nice person to have around...

When the master speaks, the class is silent...

atlatl with paracord. It worked..... sort off...

  1. Looks like fun! I have camped in the Dutch forest a few times myself (in the south). Thanks for showing.
